Spotted Zebra was created from a simple childhood memory.
“Growing up in France, my family used a toy library in a nearby town. As a child, I loved it all; choosing toys, playing with them at home, and then returning them to discover something new. It made play feel exciting and accessible.
Years later, as a parent, I found myself wishing we had access to a toy library when my children were younger. Like many families, we had toys coming more in and then out of the house, often used for only a short time, creating clutter (or toy museum) and unnecessary expenses.”

A few years ago, I started talking about this idea with other parents. The response was always the same: “That’s a brilliant idea, I wish we had that in Waterford.”
That’s when Spotted Zebra began to take shape.
Spotted Zebra exists to make play more affordable, more sustainable, and more accessible for families in Waterford. By sharing toys instead of owning them, we support children’s development, reduce waste, and help families enjoy variety without the cost or clutter.
